oh Lord…we are in the thick of the threenager years and it is HARD.  i’m not sure if it’s b/c she’s our first, so just parenting a child is the hard part.  ORRR if our child is really THAT much harder. c is VERY strong-willed and stubborn (go that from me) and there are some things that she just won’t back down on.  i understand her reasoning and WHHYYY she wants it, but the bigger problem is that she’s not listening to what mike and i are saying.  like her will to do something HER WAY and in HER TIME is stronger than any time-out, spanking, scolding, lecture, taking toys…

    September Round-Up

this month went by SO RIDICULOUSLY fast.  work was so busy (prepping for the school year) and i didn’t take as many pictures as i probably should have… But here are some fun moments from September. LUCY’S 5th Birthday!!!!  I can’t even believe that much time has passed since we adopted our little baby love.  c’s slowly getting better at ballet~ it’s been awesome seeing her grow and learn new skills. <3 we showed this mama below (in orange) with a dessert shower for her baby boyyyyy.  so so excited. c’s violin and taekwondo lessons are going strong.  they are sooooooo cute and i love that she’s growing and learning…

    Table Manners for Toddlers

oh my, getting a toddler to sit at the table during dinner time can be the MOST challenging part of my day.  c will sit and eat for about 5-10 minutes and then she’ll start to stand in her seat, wander from the table, bring toys to the table, etc.  as a new mama i have no clue when it’s the right time to teach c all the rules, but i definitely needed to put some guidelines in place so that mike and i could EAT or even have a conversation! here are some fun things that have helped us and will hopefully creating a foundation to build on as…

    Three Years and 3 Months

i can’t believe i have a three year old TODDLER.  just seriously blows my mind.  time is going by SO SO fast and before i forget, i’m going to try and document some of the best memories/moments of C these days… -c’s English and Korean are EXPLODING.  she says the most HILARIOUS phrases in both languages and the way she understands the world is really surprising.  she understands so much more than i give her credit for knowing at 3 yrs old.  funny phrases/words: “widibittit” (for a little bit) “i hiiiiidingggg” (when she just covers her eyes) “bow cereal” (for cereal in a bowl, not just loose cereal and a…

    Hawaii 2018

oh my…this last trip to hawaii was different than my previous trips since we went with friends!  two families came to hawaii with their little ones and we stayed at the Hawaiian Hilton Village Hotel thursday to sunday.  it was a trip for the books and i have to say, a REALLY fun way to vacay! c and i got to hawaii about 1 week before everyone else to hang out with my parents.  c only gets to see them once (mayyyybe twice) a year, so i wanted to make sure we had as much family time as possible.  my parents also managed to squeeze 1 year of spoiling into…

    August Round-up part I

i can’t believe it’s august.  i had a huge list of things i wanted to do with our family this summer and well…i probably only tackled about 1/3 (if that).  sigh.  oh well.  school is starting at the end of sept for me and i am NOT ready.  i have this antsy travel bug inside of me and i seriously want to take an international trip somewhere and a staycation on the coast of CA. since i haven’t been updating each event/weekend regularly, i thought it would be easier to do a bi-monthly or monthly round-up! C moved classrooms this month~ from the 2 year old (rabbit) class to the…

    Summer + 10 Years

Hello friends. I am alive and well. I know that since this blog was rebooted I haven’t been updating as regularly. That is because…Well…life! Every day of the work week I’m just trying to get to bedtime. After bedtime I try to clean a little, rest, and talk to my main man. This last year I have felt myself stretched thin, yet I’m not sure why. My job is way better (and less stressful), c is older and easier, mike is traveling less… *shrug*. I guess it is just one of those busy seasons. Anyway, just wanted to pop on here and tell you I am alive and well. Just…

Instilling Confidence and Self-Esteem in Kids

this is a topic that i am really passionate about.  confidence in kids.  i am NO expert and i am learning how to do this along the way~ but i’m really hoping to focus on it so that as c grows into an adult, she grows into a confident and centered woman. i was super sheltered as a child and when i went to college, i feel like i made a lot of mistakes.  i didn’t know how to be open minded or take risks or even live while making smart decisions. sooo, in an effort to constantly communicate with c, give her life tools to make smart decisions, AND…

    Remembering Loss: Coping with Miscarriage

if you haven’t read the first article this journey, please click here first before reading below. i’m about 6 months out from my first miscarriage and 2 months removed from my second.  not a day goes by where i don’t think about these babies and wonder what they would look like, be like, feel like in my arms. i have found a lot of solace in speaking to other mamas who have lost babies and listening to podcasts, reading instagram messages, etc.  because i find it SO SO therapeutic, i thought i would share with other mamas who may be going through what i am. Social Media Accounts There are…

Must Read for Parents: Protect your Child from Sexual Abuse

oh my.  i hate to bring this topic up and make you a more paranoid parent… but if you’re anything like me, I WANT TO KNOW.  i want to know what to be cautious of, what to look out for, and how to best equip my baby so that she knows what is OK and what is CERTAINLY NOT OK. (Click here for the article) you may not agree with everything here, but i do think it’s important to be aware and be in the know of what surrounds our kids today.
